Job Description

The IT CMDB Lead Business Process Consultant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Working closely with IT Service Now System Admin, Platform, and Process Owners, the consultant will ensure adherence to standardized configuration management methodologies while facilitating the development of policies and processes. Their responsibilities encompass conducting audits, maintaining CMDB accuracy, and driving visibility on unauthorized changes.

Proficiency in CMDB and asset management tools, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enables the analyst to effectively manage multiple priorities and support evolving ITSM requirements.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree in CIS, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
  • 3-5 years' of Asset Management and/or IT Configuration experience

  • Advanced understanding of IT Configuration and Asset Management processes
  • Familiarity with Discovery and Service Mapping tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for maintaining CMDB data integrity
  • Ability to generate reports for KPIs
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Assisting in developing standard IT configuration management methodology
  • Supporting the Configuration manager in policy, process, and knowledge base development
  • Collaborating with the Configuration manager to enhance CI data integrity
  • Assisting in conducting configuration audits and reconciliation
  • Maintaining CIs for CMDB accuracy and completeness
  • Driving visibility on unauthorized CI changes
  • Identifying Configuration management support for new ITSM requirements
  • Supporting and administering configuration and asset management tools
  • Performing SDLC activities to enhance the Service Now platform
  • Acting as backup for CAB Manager

Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.
  • This is a hybrid position working in the Kansas City or Philadelphia office 2-3 days a week
